About
It is no wonder that Jason ended up in the golf business considering he was born and raised in Pinehurst, NC. Swinging his first club at the age of 8 and working summers on golf courses starting at the age of 16. After enrolling at North Carolina State University in Textile Chemistry and spending a year in the labs, Jason missed the outdoors and switch majors to Agronomy. He then started working at MacGregors Downs, even rearranged his classes in order to work full days on the course so as to learn as much as he could. It was a busy college life as he was also a varsity athlete with the NC State Rifle Team and on the Dean’s List. After graduation, Jason worked as an assistant superintendent at The Cardinal Country Club in Greensboro for two years and got tournament experience with The Cardinal Amateur, an AJGA event. After some more assistant superintendent experience in Pinehurst and back at MacGregor Downs, Jason set off to the warmer climates of Florida and became a superintendent at The Polo Club of Boca Raton. It was here that Jason obtained renovation experience as he assisted in the construction of one of The Polo’s golf courses. Then Jason received an offer few would turn down, the opportunity to live and work in the Caribbean. Being an avid diver and fisherman, he jumped at the chance and became the superintendent at Provo Golf Club in the Turks & Caicos Islands. It was here he honed his construction experience by completing many successful projects. He played host to the Caribbean’s biggest amateur golf tournament, The Caribbean Amateur, and enjoyed success being a vital part of the community in developing the island’s sports field. Then the inevitable happened, Jason moved back to Florida to get married and start a family. He lived in Coral Gabels, Miami, and was hired at Melreese Golf Club to renovate their golf course. One year and a successful renovation later, Jason was hired at Parkland Golf & Country Club to manage their Audubon Gold Signature golf club. It was here in Parkland Jason and his family set down roots and became a part of the community, building relationships on and off the golf course. Jason was the President of the South Florida Chapter of Golf Course Superintendents for a few years and is still active on the Board. He also organized fishing tournaments for Parkland members and non-members alike as well as ran children’s gaming events. After a successful time in Parkland, Jason brought his talents to Brightview Golf at Palm Beach County’s premier golfing facility, Osprey Point. It was not long that Brightview Golf realized Jason’s talents and promoted him to Area Director over all of their South Florida courses. Jason enjoys helping his courses, company, and the community and looks to continue for many more years to come.
